Updates on Activities & Events

What a busy month (or so) it has been! Here’s a quick rundown of what I’ve been up to:

  • St. John’s College Dean at the Hausmann Millworks – An enriching event filled with deep conversations on education, philosophy, and politics, followed by a studio tour of one of fellow artists at the Millworks. Not to mention good wine and an amazing charcuterie spread!

  • Wisdom Challenge – Proverbs 18 - A powerful reminder of the impact of our words. Elizabeth (whom I met at the St. John’s College - Hausmann Millworks event) invited me as a guest on her live Zoom call series Swipe Right On Wisdom.

Every day this January, the series held a live discussion on one chapter of Proverbs. As a guest on the Saturday, January 18th discussion, I shared what stood out to me when studying Proverbs 18. Such an insightful and enriching experience!

  • Grant Writing for Artists Workshop – Learning how to secure funding for creative projects. Thank you to the Contemporary at Blue Star for organizing this informative event!

  • Artists THR!VE Workshop – Investing in growth as an artist and entrepreneur. If you’re an artist seeking resources to improve your professional acumen, highly suggest to check out their website.

  • Non-Monolith Art Panel – Honored to witness the work and hear the stories of these incredible artists and their unique and diverse experiences. I particularly resonated with the work of Kaldric Dow for his skillful and compelling collage portraiture, Gary Young who is from a small town in Maryland (as am I), and Alexander McBeth for his deep appreciation of nature and God’s creation.

  • On and Off Fred Studio & Gallery Tour – Excited to open my studio in March and have a piece featured in the gallery! I’d love for you to attend! You can find details at bihlhaus.org.

  • More Precious Than Jewels Exhibition – Submitted to be included in this inspiring exhibition with will run throughout the month of March. More to come!

Developing Thoughts & What I’m Focused On

This month, God has been refining my understanding of the power of words, how they shape our lives, relationships, and the fruit we bear for His Kingdom. I’m also leaning into trusting Him more fully (because let’s be real, I’ve never actually been in control), and finding deep gratitude in the beauty of life’s moments.

🎶Albums on repeat:

  • Purified Love - Madison Ryann Ward

  • Eternity - CèJae

Artwork, Artwork, Artwork!

I’m finally getting a grasp on my artistic process in macro terms—developing bodies of work in a way that feels authentic. Interestingly, my process is the reverse of what the art world traditionally expects: God gives me the art first, then reveals the theme.

This completely ties into what I’ve been learning about surrendering control and trusting God’s vision—in such a tangible way in my life. I’m excited to explore this dynamic in the coming months!

Highlights

NOT FORGOTTEN - A body of work that tells the story of the dangers of straying away from God and His relentless pursuit of us.

In Progress: AL!VE - A developing series that illustrates the power of repentance and God’s redemption, mercy, and love.

Invitation to Purchase

Based on what God has revealed, I’ll be adding new artwork posters to my site within a month or so! Keep an eye out and check them out when they drop.
